Live Baltimore

Building neighborhood pride through telling the stories of the people who live there

Context

Live Baltimore’s mission is to show the city as a great place to live, work, and put down roots. They wanted to showcase the people who make up Baltimore’s diverse neighborhoods, giving prospective residents a sense of belonging that goes beyond statistics or real estate listings.

Approach

Our team produced Meet Your Neighbors, a video series spotlighting Baltimore residents sharing their personal stories of home, community, and connection.

While Live Baltimore’s marketing team handled rollout and distribution, my role was to shape the on-set narrative quality and ensure the footage captured felt human and resonant. That meant:

  • Acting as field producer to keep the shoots smooth and collaborative

  • Listening closely during interviews to ensure soundbites would be usable and compelling

  • Asking targeted follow-up questions to draw out answers with warmth and “heart”

  • Guiding post-production feedback to maintain authenticity and consistency across the series

Output

  • A library of resident stories featured on Live Baltimore’s website and social channels

  • Ongoing integration into their recruitment and neighborhood pride campaigns

  • Video content that felt authentic, approachable, and aligned with the organization’s mission

Results

The Meet Your Neighbors series became a cornerstone of Live Baltimore’s outreach efforts. It brought real faces and voices into the spotlight, showing the emotional side of choosing Baltimore as home.

Value

This project demonstrates how even within a larger marketing team, narrative direction can elevate raw interviews into a story ecosystem. By ensuring authenticity at the point of capture, the final campaign had more impact, emotional resonance, and long-term utility.
